I want words to feel more accessible. I want to infuse poetry in unlikely places. I think it’s important to sit at tables where people don’t look or behave like me. I think poetry should also follow this rule - sit at “tables” with unassuming eyes. I know the power of words to be sneakier than we give it credit for - in some ways, it can heal the world.

About Olivia

Her Mission

Olivia believes poetry is a transformative tool for healing as it helps us process complex feelings and delivers comfort during periods of stress, isolation, and grief. She also believes poetry puts love, kindness, and authenticity back into the world. She uses words to write poetry, officiate weddings, and connect with the world.

Her Story

Olivia Armanini started her writing journey right in the heart of New Orleans, 12 years ago. Before collaborating with street wordsmiths, like Cubs the Poet, or getting invited to writing workshops from American Playwright, James Ragan, she was just a kid living in Algiers Point - the second oldest neighborhood in Nawlins’.

Olivia first fell in love with poetry through spoken word at 16 years old, but her fascination with words and rhythm dates back to early childhood.

Olivia has a degree in English and a minor in Writing from Southeastern Louisiana University. She attained supplemental writing credits in screenwriting, poetry, and self-publishing from Charles University in Prague, CZ, and the University College Cork in Cork, Ireland.

Olivia currently makes a living in digital marketing at Click Here Digital and previously worked as an AP English Teacher for the Louisiana Public School District.

She has self-published poetry chapbooks, written dozens of custom poems, and been featured as the seasoned poet for Pacific Corner Poet’s open mic. She also was invited as a guest speaker for Western Washington University’s QueerCon and served as the 2024 co-chair for the Sue C. Boynton Poetry Contest - the longest-running poetry contest in Bellingham, WA, operated by the non-profit, Whatcom Poetry Series.
